In a time of great change and opportunity, I am reminded that the strength of North Carolina’s future rests in the people who call our state home. Every individual deserves the opportunity to discover their strengths, develop their talents, and pursue a future filled with possibility. That belief is at the heart of the North Carolina Employment and Training Association (NCETA). As a statewide professional association dedicated to advancing workforce development, employment, and training, NCETA brings together workforce professionals, educators, employers, nonprofit organizations, and state and local partners who share a common purpose: creating pathways to meaningful opportunity and building stronger individuals, businesses, and communities across our great state.

As President of NCETA, I am honored to help carry forward the proud legacy of this organization and the dedicated professionals who serve North Carolina every day. Through training, our partnership with the annual NCWorks Partnership Conference, the NCETA newsletter, and our annual conference, we are investing in the people who stand on the front lines—connecting jobseekers with opportunity, helping employers find the talent they need, and strengthening communities from the ground up. Our work is more than workforce development; it is about opening doors, building confidence, creating possibilities, and ensuring that every North Carolinian has the chance to contribute, succeed, and reach their full potential.

As I begin this new chapter, I do so with deep gratitude for the trust placed in me by the NCETA Board and membership and with tremendous optimism for what we can accomplish together. I believe our greatest opportunities will come when we continue to collaborate, embrace innovation, strengthen our partnerships, and learn from one another. Together, we can build a more educated, skilled, and resilient workforce prepared not only to meet the challenges ahead, but to lead North Carolina into a brighter future. It is a privilege to serve alongside so many passionate professionals and leaders who believe in the power of opportunity.
